Father kills daughters: man confession shocks everyone

KARACHI: In a shocking and tragic incident that has sent waves of grief through the local community, a middle-aged man identified as Aslam, a father of four, has been accused of brutally murdering his two daughters during the night in Karachi.

According to initial police reports, Aslam lived with his family in modest circumstances and was the sole breadwinner of the household. His family consisted of his wife, Bibi Jan, an adult son, a married daughter, and two younger daughters who spent much of their time under the care of their grandmother.

Family members told investigators that the household began to deteriorate following the death of Aslam's wife after a prolonged illness. Relatives alleged that her death marked a turning point in his life, leaving him emotionally isolated and financially unstable. Investigators claim that Aslam subsequently developed a gambling addiction and accumulated debts reportedly exceeding PKR 500,000.

Police sources further allege that Aslam became unemployed and struggled to meet his financial obligations. Family members claimed that creditors frequently visited the house demanding repayment. In one reported incident, relatives alleged that unknown individuals attempted to abduct the girls, but their grandmother intervened and prevented the attempt.

The case took another disturbing turn during the investigation when allegations emerged regarding an inappropriate relationship between Aslam and his daughter-in-law, Zoya, the wife of his son. According to investigators, the alleged relationship had remained hidden from other family members, although Aslam's son had reportedly become suspicious.

Authorities state that the tragedy unfolded late at night when Aslam allegedly attacked one of his daughters while she was asleep. Police claim that when the second daughter witnessed the incident, she too was killed. The following morning, the girls' brother reportedly rushed to the scene after learning of the murders and discovered his father sitting beside the bodies.

Speaking to reporters, the grieving brother expressed his anguish.

"He killed my sisters like animals. I do not want him to receive the death penalty. I want to punish him with my own hands," he said.

During police interrogation, investigators claim that Aslam confessed to the killings and provided details regarding the alleged involvement of his daughter-in-law. Police subsequently summoned Zoya for questioning.

According to investigators, Zoya allegedly revealed information that introduced a new dimension to the case. Police sources claim she admitted discussing the future of her relationship with Aslam and allegedly told him that they could not remain together because of his daughters. Investigators are currently examining whether those conversations played any role in motivating the murders.

The allegations against both suspects remain under investigation, and authorities have emphasized that all claims must be proven in court.

If the allegations are proven, Aslam could face charges under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including:

Section 302 PPC – Punishment for Qatl-i-Amd (intentional murder), which may carry the death penalty, life imprisonment, or other punishment as determined by the court.

Section 109 PPC – Abetment of an offence, which may apply to any individual found to have encouraged, instigated, or facilitated the commission of the crime.

Section 34 PPC – Acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention, if investigators establish coordinated involvement by more than one person.

Police officials stated that forensic evidence, witness statements, and digital records are being examined to determine the exact sequence of events and the extent of each suspect's involvement.

The deaths of the two young sisters have reignited public debate about domestic violence, family abuse, and the social consequences of gambling addiction and financial distress. Human rights advocates have called for a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victims. As of the filing of this report, the case remains under investigation, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
